Supporting Immigrant
Communities Together

A joint German-Mexican project
Union Allegro is a binational, non-profit project connecting Germany and Mexico in support of migrants making their way through Torreón, Coahuila. Founded in 2019, we grew out of a simple act of solidarity: helping a local soup kitchen feed people passing through on one of Mexico's busiest migration routes. That soup kitchen — Comedor Santa Cecilia — remains at the heart of everything we do.
Since then, our work has expanded far beyond meals. We support migrants with food, medical attention, shelter, transportation, clothing, and increasingly, legal orientation — while also raising awareness among communities in both Mexico and Germany about the realities of migration today.

What We Do
Prepare and serve meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner, every day of the year
Provide medical attention and cover the cost of medicines and appointments
Offer shelter to especially vulnerable groups
Pay for transportation so migrants can reach shelters, banks, hospitals, or government offices
Maintain and improve infrastructure, from kitchen equipment to restrooms and repairs
Bring food and medicine directly to the railroad, where many migrants wait rather than leave the tracks behind
In recent years, as more migrants arrive with entire families — including children, elderly relatives, and even pets — we've adapted what we provide and how we provide it, and we're working to strengthen our ties with lawyers and human rights specialists to meet growing legal needs.
